JSM was contracted to complete the electrical and instrumentation for TATA Steel's new iron ore concentrate processing facility in Labrador West, near the isolated community of Schefferville, PQ, designed to produce 5MT of high grade concentrate.

For this project, JSM installed an aerial medium voltage system, plant electrical systems – including cable tray, power cables, high voltage distribution cables, six 2.0MW medium voltage generators and controls, motor control centers (MCC), and high bay lighting, instrumentation, terminations, and mechanical tubing. JSM was also responsible for the fiber optic backbone and data network systems supporting process controls and operations. Hours worked totalled 280,000 with the contract being completed on time and within budget.
